EPSS is just one month old now, but a lot has happened already.

What’s happened:

• Growth: The membership drive has gone extremely well — we already have over 200 members, mostly new, including 30 lifetime memberships. And we are still very far out from our first conference. The listserv is active, now with 750 members and growing. We are also on Bluesky, with 1.6k followers.
• EPSS 2026: Contracts for Belfast have been signed, and planning is well underway. The EPSS Belfast 2026 committee worked with the council to build out a rich set of sections with co-chairs from a wide range of countries and regions, as well as innovative panel formats. See the call for papers for more. Reach out to section chairs if you want to pitch innovations.
• EPSS 2027: Dates for the Hamburg meeting have been locked in. Mark your calendars for 16–19 June 2027.

Looking forward:

• EPSS 2028: A committee has been formed to explore options for EPSS 2028.
• Diversity Committee: The Diversity Committee has formed and is planning activities for Belfast 2026 and beyond.
• Elections: We will be holding our first elections for council members in late autumn 2025.
• New directions: We are starting to explore new activities, including a prize committee, a fellowship committee, and methodological support for members. If you’d like to contribute or propose initiatives, please contact us at admin@epssnet.org.
