Pre-Conference Workshops

Call for Proposals: EPSS Belfast 2026 Pre-Conference Workshops Wednesday, 17 June

The Conference Committee invites proposals for pre-conference workshops to be held in advance of the EPSS 2026 Conference in Belfast. The pre-conference workshops will take place on Wednesday 17 June in the Hilton Belfast Hotel. Pre-conference workshops are designed to foster focused, in-depth discussion, skill-building, and collaboration among scholars at all career stages. We welcome proposals that engage a broad range of topics and approaches within political science and related fields, including innovative research agendas, methodological training, pedagogy, and professional development.

Workshop Format

Workshops may be organized as half-day or full-day sessions and may take a variety of formats, including but not limited to: Research- or theme-based workshops, Methodological or technical training sessions, Professional development or teaching-focused workshops, Collaborative, network-building, or community-oriented events.

Financial Responsibilities

Please note the following logistical details: workshop organizers are responsible for covering catering costs for their participants. Organizers are asked to indicate whether they are able to contribute, in full or in part, toward the room rental fee (£500 for a full-day workshop and £250 for a half-day workshop, per conference room required). While such contributions are not required, they may help facilitate scheduling and planning.

Selection Process

All proposals will be reviewed and selected by the Conference Organizing Committee. The Committee will aim to assemble a diverse and engaging set of workshops that complement the main conference program.

Submission Process and Deadline

Proposals should be submitted via the form on the EPPS website by 2 April 2026. Applicants will be notified of decisions by 10 April 2026. Questions about pre-conference workshops may be directed to conference@epssnet.org.

We very much look forward to receiving your proposals and to an engaging set of workshops that will enrich the conference experience.
